I was a student at Milton from 1963 to 1966. Played water polo and also
did high board diving for the school. Classmates were Paul Meredith
(younger brother Colin), Colin Baines, Neville James etc. Attended

I came across your website and was transported back to the time I spent
at Milton as a boarder in Charter House. I would be grateful if you
would add my name to your data base. It is sad to note the complete
fragmentation of our school body, being dispersed to all the corners of
the world. I remember and would like to contact a few of my old school
mates of some 60 years ago. It would be interesting to see how they
fared.

I'm glad to find this site. Scanned through it and found quite a few
friends from my years at Milton. I noticed that the tennis teams and
athletic teams from my time were missing. I'll try to dig them out and
send them along sometime soon. Regards Tim Brennan.

I had a question. My Grandfather is listed under the dispatches (BEE
Bawden) and I also noticed there is an RJ Bawden in the Roll. Did you
get the list from a picture? I ask as my Grandfather's younger brother
was an RJ Bawden - but I don't think he received an MC. Would be a great
thing to research if he did.
Incidentally, I'd ask the same question of the list of head prefects. My
Grandfather was head prefect, I think in 1936 or '37, and my Dad thinks
his uncle was too, shortly afterwards. Is there anyway of getting
pictures from the school?

A friend of mine Richard Schwartz recentIy discovered a series of
letters exchanged between his late father and a man called W A Russell
who went MIA in Europe in 1943. This gentleman, whose father bore the
same name, was a resident of Hillside, Bulawayo and went to Milton (I
believe he was also a Beit scholar).
My friend would like to send these moving letters to any family members
that might remain but is finding it very difficult to trace these people
(the Bulawayo diaspora is pretty widespread!). Here is the story, via
Richard's blog:

I wonder if you can think of a way of locating any possible family. Of
course contemporaries of Mr Russell would now be in their nineties, but
it is possible that nieces and nephews remain alive.
Also, thanks for the website - great fun to read. My class roll call is
still terrifyingly familiar (2a1).
Best wishes,
Michael

Can you tell me please what an Old Miltonians Blazer would have looked
like in 1931? We are looking at Photos of my father whao attended Milton
from 1924-1930 and then wore a striped blazer after that in photos.
